Roofing, siding, windows, doors and gutters are one system rather than five separate products. Water that gets past any of them ends up in the same wall cavity, and the failures almost always happen at the joints between them rather than in the middle of any one component. That is why a roofer is a reasonable person to handle the transitions.
Gutters deserve particular mention because they are the most neglected part of the exterior and one of the most consequential. Water that does not get away from the house goes into the foundation, and overflowing gutters in a Virginia winter are a leading cause of ice damming at the eaves.

How this work gets priced.
All three are quoted after measuring, because openings vary and because what is behind the trim is unknown until it comes off. Windows and doors in particular are priced per opening, so the count and the sizes drive the number more than anything else.
Seamless gutters are formed on site to the exact length of each run, which is what makes them seamless. Pricing follows the linear footage, the number of downspouts and corners, and the height.

Rot in the framing or sill is common on older homes and is not visible until the old unit comes out.

How exterior work runs.
Free inspection
We measure the openings or the gutter runs, look at the surrounding trim and flashing for existing water damage, and give you a written estimate with the options laid out.
Written estimate
You get a written estimate with the options laid out and no vague line items. We explain the tradeoffs and give you our honest recommendation, including when the cheaper option is the right one.
Scheduled work
We schedule around you and show up when we said we would. Crews protect landscaping and vehicles, and magnet-sweep for nails at the end of every working day, not just the last one.
Final walk and paperwork
We walk the finished job with you, answer anything still open, and hand over the warranty documentation. Manufacturer coverage gets registered at closeout, because it is not real until it is registered.
Warranty
Two promises, and they are not the same promise.
Windows, doors and gutters carry the same two layer structure as roofing. Hardesty warrants the installation for five years. Manufacturers warrant their products on terms that differ by product and by manufacturer.
As with siding, installation is where most exterior envelope failures actually happen. A good window fitted badly leaks; an ordinary window fitted properly does not.

Common questions
Windows, doors and gutter questions.
Why does a roofing company do windows and gutters?
Because it is the same problem. Roofing, siding, windows, doors and gutters are one exterior envelope, and water gets in at the transitions between them rather than through the middle of any one part. Those transitions are roofing work.
What are seamless gutters?
Gutters formed on site to the exact length of each run, so there are no joints along the run to leak. Joints are where sectional gutters fail, so removing them removes the failure point.
Are gutter guards worth it?
It depends on your trees. Where leaves make cleaning a recurring chore or the gutters are high and awkward to reach, they are genuinely useful. Where neither is true, they are optional. We will give you a straight answer rather than adding them by default.
Can overflowing gutters damage my roof?
Yes, and it is a common cause of trouble in Central Virginia winters. Water that cannot get away backs up at the eaves, and in freeze thaw conditions that contributes to ice damming, which pushes water back under the shingles.
Do you replace windows in older homes?
Yes. Older openings are rarely square and frequently have rot in the sill or framing that only appears once the old unit is out. We flag that possibility in the estimate rather than as a surprise.
What happens if you find rot when you remove the old window?
We show you and price the repair before continuing, the same as we do on roofing and siding.
Do you install storm doors?
Ask when you call and we will tell you what we can and cannot cover on doors, rather than promising on a web page.
Is this work covered by the same warranty as your roofing?
The Hardesty five year workmanship warranty covers the installation on this work as it does on roofing. Product warranties come from the manufacturers and vary by product.
